Tex Spruiell Park

PARK REVIEW

This is a nice park in the middle of a neighborhood. It’s a fairly small park (9.8 acres), but it has a nice playground. The playground equipment is big, so there is a lot to do here. There is also an open field for playing sports, basketball goals, and a trail with exercise equipment along the path.

PLAYGROUND

There were 2 different sections of playground equipment in this one area. I will describe each separately:

    • Largest Playground Structure

      • This playground equipment is best for kids ages 4 and up because the stairs are too high for the little kids to get up without a parent’s assistance.

      • Playground Equipment

        • 2 Bumpy Plastic Slides (side-by-side)

        • 1 Curved Plastic Slide

        • Ladders

        • Spiral Pole

        • Bridge

        • Chain Ladder

        • Monkey Bars

        • Rock Wall

        • Climbing Aparatus

    • Smaller Playground Structure

      • This set is great for smaller kids because they can easily climb up onto it. The stairs are low enough for them to climb up by themselves.

    • Shade Level

      • There is not much shade here, so bring the sunscreen. There are a few trees around the edge of the playground that will cover the benches depending on what time of day you go. There is no shade directly over the playground equipment.

    • Seating

      • There are 3 benches (with some shade depending on the time of day that you go). There are also 2 tables at the playground.
